“Truth for Truckers”  Psalm 64-Praying for Protection

8/31/2016

David’s pattern of calling on God as soon as trouble arises occurs here in Psalm 64. He cries to God for protection from the wicked workers of iniquity:
I. Four Actions of the Afflicted (v.1, 2)
   1. Hear my voice O God
   2. Preserve my life from fear of the enemy
   3. Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked
   4. Hide me from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity
II. Six Actions of the Enemy (v.3-6)
   1. They whet their tongue like a sword
   2. They bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words
   3. Suddenly do they shoot at him and fear not
   4. They encourage themselves in an evil matter
   5. They commune of laying snares privily
   6. The search out iniquities
III. One Action from God is all it takes (v.7-10)
   1. But God shall shoot at them
   2. They make their own tongue to fall upon themselves
   3. All that see them shall flee away
   4. All men shall fear and shall declare the work of God for they shall wisely consider His doings
   5. The righteous shall be glad in the LORD and shall trust in Him and all the upright in heart shall glory

How does this apply to us in our daily walk with the Lord? This Psalm is a faith-building account for the Believer. We know that we can rely on God for protection when we are in a situation of conflict with the wicked or those who are not saved. We just need to call upon God and expect Him to take care of the situation for all it takes is one action from Him to resolve any conflict! When we expect Him to act and wait on Him to do it His way, our faith is put in gear and God has His reason to move on our behalf…”For without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

“Truth for Truckers”  Psalm 65 “Blessed is the man”

8/31/2016

In (v.5) an important truth is given to every Believer: “Blessed is the man whom Thou choose, and cause to approach unto Thee, that he may dwell in Thy courts”. This brief sentence has important truth and real significance for the 21st century Believer for it points out the fact that God does the choosing and the causing in the matter of approaching Him in prayer.

Why is that? Is it right that He selects those Believers who get the blessing of being in His presence and the simple answer is “yes” it is right for He alone knows our hearts and unless the heart has been searched by Him and deemed holy, without sin, we cannot enter into His presence, we cannot approach unto Him, we cannot dwell in His courts. “Follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14)

If the sky is brass and you do not sense the presence of God when you go to prayer, try using the instruction from Psalm 139:23, 24 “Search me O God and know my heart, try me and know my thoughts. See if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.” God’s blessing will follow the Believer whose heart is clean and the Lord will definitely answer the prayer of the one who prays: “Create in me a clean heart O God” (Psalm 51:10).

Truth for Truckers *8.15. 2016* ‘The Power of Death’
When the Lord Jesus suffered, died, was buried and rose again the third day, the entire spiritual landscape of humanity was completely transformed. Now, God’s opportunity to restore humanity and the planet was made available and all that each person needed was faith alone as Martin Luther discovered way back yonder in the early 1500’s which brought about The Reformation giving birth to the most powerful movement of the Holy Spirit since the Early Church!
The world is in need of another Reformation, a Transformation, or Holy Spirit-filled Revival and we have the opportunity to see the Lord move with great power in response to our faith-filled praying in the Truth of the Word for the Lord Jesus has truly delivered us. That’s the negative side, but, when He delivers He also brings to His people the positive blessing of being delivered from “The power of death” which gives Believers the liberty to be free from bondage: “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same: that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the Devil. And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” (Hebrews 2:14, 15).
Get a firm grip on this Truth, Drivers! Consider it, memorize it, and meditate upon it! It will revise and completely transform your entire perspective on life, and death. The human experience drives men into bondage for just as Ben Franklin wittily spoke, the two certainties of life are death and taxes. But, Brethren, the Cross of Jesus Christ completely revolutionized, transformed and glorified the death experience into a Doorway into Glory removing the fear and bondage by which all men were held prisoner. This changed everything! His powerful Cross/grace revealed the Kingdom of God!
He opened the cage that the Devil had power to shut and captivate the minds of men for it is truly liberating to rest in what Paul penned, “The preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us who are saved it is The Power of God” (I Corinthians 1:18). The Cross [Its unfathomable Truths] is the turning point of human history. Trust the Lord to deliver you completely and rejoice in the freedom from bondage, looking forward to the day when all creation “Shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the sons of God.” (Romans 8:21) PTL!!

Going Against the Flow

TGIF Today God Is First by Os Hillman

"But the whole assembly talked about stoning them." Numbers 14:10a
Have you ever had to stand up against the majority for a cause that wasn't popular? God brought the Israelites out of Egypt and promised He would lead them into a land of milk and honey. The process of moving out of Egypt was difficult. They could no longer do things the old way, for the old ways didn't work in the desert. God provided for them during this journey. But there came a point in which the people forgot what God had said. Their discomfort changed their belief about God.
Whenever God is slow to answer our prayers, what we believe about God is revealed. Do we change our plans and move in a different direction when pressure mounts? Or do we continue on the path God has directed for us? Four men believed what God said and were willing to stand; however, the crowd wanted to stone them.
Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole Israelite assembly gathered there. Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes and said to the entire Israelite assembly, "The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the Lord is pleased with us, He will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them." But the whole assembly talked about stoning them. Then the glory of the Lord appeared at the Tent of Meeting to all the Israelites (Numbers 14:5-10).
Notice Joshua and Caleb's response to the situation. They had spied the land. They believed God. They challenged the crowd. They seemed to know that if the Lord was not pleased with them they would not enter into the Promised Land. Those who grumbled did not enter the Promised Land. Only Joshua and Caleb and a new generation saw the fulfillment of God's promise.
Has God called you to stand for a cause bigger than yourself? You will have opposition to His call; sometimes it even comes from those in your own camp. But if God has called you, then you can be sure He will make a way. He has already opened the way before you. But you must walk in faith, joined with Him to take the land. "...Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9).

“Truth for Truckers” *8.8. 2016* “Delivered from the power of darkness 2”
“Who has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of His Dear Son.” (Colossians 1:13). Today, after over thirty-five years of being translated into the Kingdom of God, a number of Truths arise from my experience in both Kingdoms: First of all, no one is completely possessed by the Devil in one moment of time. Possession is gradual. In the lives of Christians, who cannot be possessed because the Holy Spirit resides within each and every born again child of God, however, the Devil can influence from the outside and reach in a grab the steering wheel of the lives of those who decide to go into his realm. Yes, Drivers, it begins with his influence which comes subtlely through his tools like, music, movies, and the madness that comes to us through the electronic media. While there is good that can be drawn from media, there can be a lot of evil that is blasted at you through the Devil’s wily and wicked influence in music, media and other methods of his madness.
What is it, or better yet, who is it that causes men, women and children to display openly immoral degrees of nudity/nakedness? Who is is that causes men, women and children to commit suicide? Who is it that causes men, women and children to be loners? Who is it that causes men, women and children to wear a “Skull and Crossbones” being fixated with the dark side? Who is that causes men, women and children to listen to the most vile and wicked so-called music which can be clamped to their head almost 24-7? Who causes men, women, and children to have “Shock Therapy” in order to change their obsessive thought patterns? Where do these thought patterns come from? Is it mental illness or simply the Devil assaulting the minds of them which believe not?
Without LABORING the point any further, it is obvious that the Devil has control of those who have not been translated into the Kingdom of God...and he controls many Believers by influence, not possession. And, his influence causes many who have been translated into the Kingdom of God to be his tools by proxy! He controls by degrees and when the unsaved person is ripe for complete possession they are consumed, just like the madman in Mark 5 and the desperate, suicidal loner in that country store in PA those many years ago!! Let’s wake up, Drivers, for there are many out there just like me and worse, exceeding fierce, outcasts, with self-inflicted wounds, morals out of control, desperate, defiant, depressed and really needing the Lord! And, we have the Supernatural Serum, the precious Living Word of God and His Name is Jesus!! He is able to penetrate the hardest heart even if they have all ten of this list of demon-possessed characteristics repeated from yesterday’s message.
1. Exceeding Fierce (Matthew 8:28)
2. Outcast from Society/Loner (Mark 5:2)*
3. Unusual Strength (Mark 5:3, 4)
4. Self-inflicted Wounds (Mark 5:5)*
5. Continual Unrest (Mark 5:5)*
6. Continual Crying/Screaming (Mark 5:5)
7. Depressed/Desperate/Despondent (Mark 5:5)*
8. Attracted/Fixation with Death/Tombs/Suicide (Mark 5:2, 3, 5)*
9. Morals out of Control/Nakedness (Luke 8:27)*
10. Mental/Spiritual Disorder/Split Personality/Schizophrenia (Mark 5:6, 7)*

However, it all begins with the Devil’s D’s and progresses: Discouragement, Depression, Distress, Despondence, Desperation, Defiance, Destruction, Death! Yes, that is his ultimate goal, for suicide today is one of the biggest causes of death in the USA for the Devil is very busy, a lot busier than in New Testament days having more tools, but it is being blamed on man-made ideas. Remember, Brethren, Jesus’ translating power is NEVER limited by the conditions of men, for His Word is all-powerful, He is able to do exceeding abundantly regardless of man’s sinful condition. So, It is for us to proclaim His Word and simply be a witness of what He has done in our lives and: “Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” (I Peter 3:15). This is one of the primary purposes for the Believer’s existence: Jesus said:“Ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you,and ye shall be witnesses unto Me” (Acts 1:8). Therefore, let us simply get on with it, trusting Him by faith, leaning upon Jesus and watch Him work!

Grace

TGIF Today God Is First by Os Hillman

..."Peace be with you!" John 20:19
How would you respond to a group of fellow workers if you were their leader and you poured your life into them, teaching them all you know for three years, only to have them disband and go their own way when troubles came? What would you say to them after you were reunited for the first time? Perhaps you might scold them. Perhaps you might cite each one's offense. At the least, you might shame them for their lack of faithfulness and courage.
After Jesus was crucified and raised from the dead, He appeared to the disciples. His first words to them were, "Peace be with you!" The word grace means "unmerited favor." When someone loves you unconditionally, without regard to your behavior in return, it becomes a powerful force in your life. Such was the case for the disciples when Jesus appeared to them. They could have expected reprimand. Instead, they received unconditional love and acceptance. He was overjoyed to see them. They were equally overjoyed to see Him.
Jesus understood that the disciples needed to fail Him as part of their training. It would be this failure that became their greatest motivation for service. Failure allowed them to experience incredible grace for the very first time. Grace would transform them as human beings.
Have you experienced this grace in your life? Have you extended grace to those who have hurt you? Can you let go of any wrongs that have come through friends or associates? The grace you extend may change their lives - and yours.

True Repentance in a Nation

TGIF Today God Is First by Os Hillman

"When the king heard the words of the Law, he tore his robes." 2 Chronicles 34:19
Josiah was a godly king in Israel. However, before he came to power, the nation had fallen into all kinds of evil. One man, Manasseh, had brought the nation to a condition of inexorable evil. God finally had enough.
"Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I am going to bring such disaster on Jerusalem and Judah that the ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle. I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measuring line used against Samaria and the plumb line used against the house of Ahab. I will wipe out Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down" (2 Kings 21:12-13).
Josiah came into power just before this judgment. He began to clean up the evil by burning all the idolatrous temples, ridding prostitution and homosexuality from the streets, and destroying occult shrines. He did this without the benefit of even reading God's Word, but through the Holy Spirit working in his heart. Then one day the ancient Scriptures were discovered in the temple that had lain dormant for years. They had a profound impact on King Josiah.
When the king heard the words of the Law, he tore his robes. He gave these orders to Hilkiah, Ahikam son of Shaphan, Abdon son of Micah, Shaphan the secretary and Asaiah the king's attendant: "Go and inquire of the Lord for me and for the remnant in Israel and Judah about what is written in this book that has been found. Great is the Lord's anger that is poured out on us because our fathers have not kept the word of the Lord; they have not acted in accordance with all that is written in this book" (2 Chronicles 34:19-21).
Josiah was broken. He tore his robes in repentance. He fell to his knees and repented for the wickedness of his nation. He stood in the gap, and God honored Josiah; however, it wasn't enough. God still had to judge the nation for its previous wickedness under the reign of Manasseh.
"Because your heart was responsive and you humbled yourself before God when you heard what He spoke against this place and its people, and because you humbled yourself before Me and tore your robes and wept in My presence, I have heard you, declares the Lord. Now I will gather you to your fathers, and you will be buried in peace. Your eyes will not see all the disaster I am going to bring on this place and on those who live here." ... (2 Chronicles 34:27-28).
God spared Josiah during his reign, but after he died judgment came upon the nation.
No nation is immune from God's judgment. Pray for your nation today. Pray that your nation will have a repentant heart among the leaders and the people.

God's Recruitment Strategy for Leaders

TGIF Today God Is First by Os Hillman

"Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing." Acts 9:8a
When God calls one of His servants into service, there is often much travail. There are many examples where God makes His presence known through circumstances that tax the individual to his very soul.
Consider Paul, who was stricken blind on the Damascus road.
Consider Peter; when he denied Jesus after the crucifixion, he was in total despair.
Consider Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who were thrown into the fiery furnace.
Consider Daniel, who was thrown into the lions' den.
Consider David, who was forced to flee his former employer for many years and lived as a fugitive.
It may seem strange to us that God uses such incredible adversity to prepare His servants for greater service, but this is God's way. God knows that the human heart is incapable of voluntarily stepping into situations that take us beyond our comfort zone. He intentionally brings us into hard places to prove us and to drive us deeper into the soil of His grace.
In arid regions of the world, trees cannot survive unless their roots grow deeper to where the water table can be found. Once they reach the water, these trees become stronger than any tree that can be found in tropical climates. Their root systems ensure that they can withstand any storm. In the same way, God brings us into extremely difficult situations in order to prove His power and drive our spiritual roots deeper.
Friend, God may take you through times when you will question His love for you. In such times, you must cling to His coattail so that you see His purposes in it. Do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
"You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised. For in just a very little while, 'He who is coming will come and will not delay. But My righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him'" (Hebrews 10:36-38).
