“Truth for Truckers”
When God allows us to go through a difficult time, a period of extended tribulation, testing and trials, His grace is also extended as was the case in the Apostle Paul’s affliction, his “Thorn in the flesh”, as we learned yesterday, for God said “My grace is sufficient for thee.” (II Corinthians 12:7).
He is able to provide the specific comfort we need because as our Creator He knows and has experienced man’s every need for “He was in all points tempted like as we are yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15). And, through the grace He gives during these times we can be comforted by “The God of All Comfort”, one His many titles found in The Word of God:
--I, even I, am He that comforts you. Isaiah 51:12
--Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and The God of All Comfort; Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. II Corinthians 1:3, 4
--Like as a father pities his children, so the LORD pities them that fear Him. For He know our frame; He remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:13
--As one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you. Isaiah 66:13
--Casting all your care upon Him; for he cares for you. I Peter 5:7
--Thou, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and Truth. Psalm 86:15
--Another Comforter . . . even The Spirit of Truth. John 14:16, 17
--The Spirit . . . helps our infirmities. Romans 8:26
--God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4
And, Drivers, as God’s Kingdom of Priests (I Peter 2:5, 9) we should be mediators between God and man just like our Great High Priest, The Lord Jesus Christ, demonstrating Godliness when we intercede for those we encounter each day and those the Lord tells us to pray for, interceding, even as we live and breathe by the indwelling Holy Spirit. When He sends one that is obviously undone in sin, and in need both physically and spiritually, what is the answer? Immediate intercession is the key to having an effective witness for the Lord Jesus Christ ,Who died for their sake, Brethren, for He would that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the Truth thereby receiving the eternal comfort and peace from “The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6) Who is “The God of All Comfort”!
This is where Biblical soul-winning begins: Going forth weeping with compassion for the lost and returning, after sewing the Seed, the precious Word of God, bringing our sheaves/souls with us.
(Psalm 126:5, 6). Praying without ceasing to “The God of All Comfort” can only be accomplished through Spirit-filled intercession! It is one of our two offensive Weapons of War, the Word of God/Sword of the Spirit is the other (Ephesians 6:17, 18)! Mark it down! Without it, the battle will not be won!!
