Romans 6:10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I was recently asked this question in one of our daily devotional service we have here at Rig Ministries. Many drivers out on the road have crosses on their Rigs. They have the cross on there for lots of different reasons. People wear crosses on chains for lots of different reasons. Each one of us have to figure what the cross means to us. I remember when I first got saved in 1995 someone gave me a bracelet that said W.W.J.D. What would Jesus do? I wore that bracelet for 2 years and never took it off. I wore that bracelet for two reasons, One I wanted people to know that I was a Christian that I had given my life to Jesus. I wanted people to ask me about the bracelet and then I could share my testimony and tell people how I had given my life to Jesus out there on the road on I-39 on Aug. 13th 1995. Number two I wore that bracelet to remind me that I was a Christian. Sometimes we all need to be reminded that we have sold out to Jesus and this was a way to remind me of the commitment I had made to Jesus. Later on I put three crosses on my truck for the same reasons. To be a witness and also to remind me that I was now a Christian driver and the way I drove on the highways was a reflection of Jesus. When I would get upset out on the road, and drivers you know how it is, we all get upset at times. I would think people are watching me and I would think about the crosses on my truck and I wanted to be a good witness for the Lord so I tried always to let my reactions reflect the crosses on my truck or the bracelet on my wrist. I want to be all that God has called me to be so we must at all times show Christian love to all those we come in contact with each day. So that is what I thought of when I was asked “What Does The Cross Mean To Me?”
The bible says without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Jesus died on that cross just for you and for me! So friends let me ask you, “What does the Cross Mean To You?” I know what it means to me! And I also know this much for sure, Jesus Loves you and we do too! This is Chaplain Gary Rayburn and we will talk at you later.
